KMPlayer_4.0.8.1 :
K-Multimedia Player (commonly known as The KMPlayer, KMPlayer or KMP) is a media player for Windows which can play a large number of formats including VCD, DVD, AVI, MKV, Ogg, OGM, 3GP, MPEG-1/2/4, WMV, RealMedia, FLV and QuickTime. It has a significant user base and has received strong ratings and reviews on major independent download sites.

Features[edit]
The player handles a wide range of audio, video and subtitle formats and allows one to capture audio, video and screenshots. It provides both internal and external filters with a fully controlled environment of connections to other splitters, decoders, audio/video transform filters and renderers without grappling with the DirectShow merit system (a system of selecting and prioritizing codecs across the entire Windows operating system[7]). Internal filters are not registered into the system's registry in order to prevent the operating system from confusing system filters with K-Multimedia Player's filters.

The user can set many audio and video effects, slow down or increase playback speed, select parts of a video as favorites, do various A-B repeats, remap the keys of remote interface for HTPC including overlay screen controls, and change a skin dynamically depending on the media type.[8]

KMPlayer 3-D

KMPlayer supports 3D format (side-by-side, top and bottom) videos with a low CPU memory share and provides an optimized, stable playback through GPU support. KMP Plus users can view 3D content with the 3D Movie Plus Apps library.

K-Lite Codec Pack 1215 Full:
K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of audio and video codecs for Microsoft Windows that enables an operating system and its software to play various audio and video formats generally not supported by the operating system itself. K-Lite Codec Pack also includes several related tools, including Media Player Classic Home Cinema (MPC-HC), Media Info Lite, and Codec Tweak Tool.
Editions[edit]
There are four editions of K-Lite Codec Pack, all free of charge.[3]

Basic: The Basic edition is the smallest version and enables a Microsoft Windows computer to play the contents of AVI, Matroska (MKV), MP4, Ogg, Flash Video(FLV) and WebM files, etc. It only consists of LAV Video, LAV Audio, and LAV Splitter (for audio and video decoding), DirectVobSub (for subtitle decoding), Codec Tweak Tool, Icaros ThumbnailProvider, and Icaros PropertyHandler.[4] Basic is the only edition that does not include MPC-HC or MediaInfo Lite.[5]
Standard: The Standard edition includes all features of the Basic edition plus madVR, MediaInfo Lite, and MPC-HC. [6] This package is recommended for normal users.[3]
Full: The Full edition includes all features of the Standard edition plus ffdshow, DScaler5 MPEG-2 decoder, DC-Bass Source Mod, Haali Media Splitter, Haali Video Renderer, and GraphStudioNext.[7]
Mega: The Mega edition includes all features of the Full edition plus ACM and VFW codecs for video encoding/editing, AC3Filter, Haali Matroska Muxer, FourCC Changer, and VobSubStrip.[8]
After version 11.3.0, the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of LAV Filters share their settings, and an option to install only 64-bit codecs was added (visible only in Expert install mode).

In the past some versions of K-Lite Codec Pack included BS.Player, until it was supplemented with an adware package.[9]

Compatibility[edit]
K-Lite Codec Packs are compatible with Windows XP and later.[10]

Starting with K-Lite version 10.0.0, 64-bit codecs were integrated into the regular K-Lite Codec Pack. Previously, a separate 64-bit edition of the pack was available for x64 editions of Windows.

Microsoft Silverlight

Microsoft Silverlight

Microsoft Silverlight is a deprecated application framework for writing and running rich Internet applications, similar to Adobe Flash. A plugin for Silverlight is available for some browsers. While early versions of Silverlight focused on streaming media, current versions support multimedia, graphics, and animation and give developers support for CLI languages and development tools. Silverlight is also one of the two application development platforms for Windows Phone, but web pages that use Silverlight cannot run on the Windows Phone or Windows Mobile versions of Internet Explorer, as there is no Silverlight plugin for Internet Explorer on those platforms.[5]

Microsoft announced the end of life of Silverlight 5 in 2012. In 2013, Microsoft announced that they had ceased development of Silverlight except for patches and bugfixes. Microsoft has set the support end date for Silverlight 5 to be October 2021.[6] Silverlight is no longer supported in Google Chrome since September 2015.[7] Since Microsoft Edge does not support plugins, it also does not support Silverlight.[8]

Silverlight was used to provide video streaming for the NBC coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing,[9] the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver,[10] and the 2008 conventions for both major United States political parties.[11] Silverlight is also used by Amazon Video and Netflix for their instant video streaming services,[12][13] but Netflix said in its Tech Blog in 2013 that, since Microsoft had announced the end of life, they would be moving to HTML5 video.

Overview[edit]
Silverlight provides a retained mode graphics system similar to Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and integrates multimedia, graphics, animations, and interactivity into a single run-time environment. In Silverlight applications, user interfaces are declared in Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) and programmed using a subset of the .NET Framework. XAML can be used for marking up the vector graphics and animations. Silverlight can also be used to create Windows Sidebar gadgets for Windows Vista.[15]

Silverlight supports H.264 video,[16] Advanced Audio Coding, Windows Media Video (WMV), Windows Media Audio (WMA), and MPEG Layer III (MP3) media content[17] across all supported browsers without requiring Windows Media Player, the Windows Media Player ActiveX control, or Windows Media browser plug-ins. Because Windows Media Video 9 is an implementation of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) VC-1 standard, Silverlight also supports VC-1 video. According to the end user license agreement VC-1 and H.264 are only licensed for the "personal and non-commercial use of a consumer".[18] Silverlight makes it possible to dynamically load Extensible Markup Language (XML) content that can be manipulated through a Document Object Model (DOM) interface, a technique that is consistent with conventional Ajax techniques. Silverlight exposes a Downloader object which can be used to download content, like scripts, media assets, or other data, as may be required by the application.[19] With version 2, the programming logic can be written in any .NET language, including some derivatives of common dynamic programming languages like IronRuby and IronPython.[20]

A free software implementation (now abandoned)[21] named Moonlight, developed by Novell in cooperation with Microsoft, was released to bring Silverlight versions 1 and 2 functionality to Linux, FreeBSD, and other open source platforms, although some Linux distributions did not include it, citing redistribution and patent concerns.[22] However, in May 2012, Moonlight was abandoned because of its lack of popularity.[23]

Adoption[edit]
According to statowl.com, Microsoft Silverlight had a penetration of 64.16% on May 2011. Usage on July 2010 was 53.54%, whereas as of May 2011 market leader Adobe Flash was installed on 95.26% of browsers, and Java was supported on 76.51% of browsers.[24] Support of these plugins is not mutually exclusive; one system can support all three. Not all Web sites require a browser plugin; of those that do, as of 26 August 2011, fewer than 0.3% sites used Silverlight and Java,[25] 27% used Adobe Flash,[26] although another source cites around 4% for Java.[27]

Supported platforms[edit]
Over the course of about five years Microsoft released five versions with varying platform support: The first version was released in 2007; and the fifth (and final) major version on May 8, 2012. It is compatible with later versions of Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox web browsers on Microsoft Windows (except Windows RT) operating systems,[28] with Firefox and Safari under Mac and OS X, and with mobile devices using the Windows Mobile[29] and Symbian (Series 60)[30] platforms.

Cross platform Mozilla Firefox support for Silverlight is expected to be removed as of the end of 2016 when Mozilla removes support for NPAPI plugins,[31] bringing it in-line with the removal of NPAPI plugin support in Google Chrome.[32][33]

Desktop computers[edit]
Silverlight requires an x86 processor with Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE) support. Supported processors include the Intel Pentium III and up, the AMD Athlon XP and up, and newer AMD Durons.

The following table presents an availability and compatibility matrix of Silverlight versions for various operating systems and web browsers.

Google Chrome is a freeware web browser[11] developed by Google. It used the WebKit layout engine until version 27 and with the exception of its iOS releases, from version 28 and beyond uses the WebKit fork Blink.[12][13][14] It was first released as a beta version for Microsoft Windows on September 2, 2008, and as a stable public release on December 11, 2008.

As of March 2016, StatCounter estimates that Google Chrome has a 60.1% worldwide usage share of web browsers as a desktop browser.[15] It is also the most popular browser for smartphones, and combined across all platforms at about 45%. Its success has led to Google expanding the 'Chrome' brand name on various other products such as the Chromecast.

Google releases the majority of Chrome's source code as an open-source project Chromium.[16][17] A notable component that is not open source is their version of the built-in Adobe Flash Player, called Pepper Flash Player.
Features[edit]
Google Chrome features a minimalistic user interface, with its user-interface principles later being implemented into other browsers. For example, the merging of the address bar and search bar into the omnibox.[50] Chrome also has a reputation for strong browser performance.[51][52]

Bookmarks and settings synchronization[edit]
Chrome allows users to synchronize their bookmarks, history, and settings across all devices with the browser installed by sending and receiving data through a chosen Google Account, which in turn updates all signed-in instances of Chrome. This can be authenticated either through Google credentials, or a sync passphrase.

Web standards support[edit]

The results of the Acid3 test on Google Chrome 4.0
The first release of Google Chrome passed both the Acid1 and Acid2 tests. Beginning with version 4.0, Chrome has passed all aspects of the Acid3 test.[53]

As of May 2011, Chrome has very good support for JavaScript/ECMAScript according to Ecma International's ECMAScript standards conformance Test 262[54] (version ES5.1 of 2012-05-18). This test reports as the final score the number of tests a browser failed; hence lower scores are better. In this test, Chrome version 37 scored 10 failed/11578 passed. For comparison, Firefox 19 scored 193 failed/11752 passed and Internet Explorer 9 has a score of 600+ failed, while Internet Explorer 10 has a score of 7 failed.

In 2011, on the official CSS 2.1 test suite by standardization organization W3C, WebKit, the Chrome rendering engine, passes 89.75% (89.38% out of 99.59% covered) CSS 2.1 tests.[55]

On the HTML5 web standards test, Chrome 41 scores 518 out of 555 points, placing it ahead of the five most popular desktop browsers.[56][57] Chrome 41 on Android scores 510 out of 555 points.[58][59][60] Chrome 44 scores 526, only 29 point less than the maximum score.[61]

Security[edit]
See also: Browser security
Chrome periodically retrieves updates of two blacklists (one for phishing and one for malware), and warns users when they attempt to visit a site flagged as potentially harmful. This service is also made available for use by others via a free public API called "Google Safe Browsing API".[23]

Chrome uses a process-allocation model to sandbox tabs.[62] Using the principle of least privilege, each tab process cannot interact with critical memory functions (e.g. OS memory, user files) or other tab processes — similar to Microsoft's "Protected Mode" used by Internet Explorer 9 or greater. The Sandbox Team is said to have "taken this existing process boundary and made it into a jail." This enforces a computer security model whereby there are two levels of multilevel security (user and sandbox) and the sandbox can only respond to communication requests initiated by the user.[63] On Linux sandboxing uses the seccomp mode.[64][65]

Since 2008, Chrome has been faulted for not including a master password to prevent casual access to a user's passwords. Chrome developers have indicated that a master password does not provide real security against determined hackers and have refused to implement one. Bugs filed on this issue have been marked "WontFix".[66][67] As of February 2014, the Windows version asks the user to enter the Windows account password before showing saved passwords.[68]

In January 2015, TorrentFreak reported that using Chrome when connected to the internet using a VPN can be a serious security issue due to the browser's support for WebRTC.[69]

The Best Web Browser

Mozilla Firefox (or simply Firefox) is a free and open-source[22] web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox is available for Windows, OS X and Linux operating systems, with its mobile versions available for Android, and Firefox OS; where all of these versions use the Gecko layout engine to render web pages, which implements current and anticipated web standards,[23] but an additional version released in late 2015 – Firefox for iOS has also been made available – that doesn't use Gecko.

Firefox was created in 2002, under the name "Phoenix" by the Mozilla community members who wanted a standalone browser rather than the Mozilla Application Suite bundle. Even during its beta phase, Firefox proved to be popular by its testers and was praised for its speed, security and add-ons compared to Microsoft's then-dominant Internet Explorer 6. Firefox was released in November 2004,[24] and was highly successful with 60 million downloads within nine months, which was the first time that Internet Explorer's dominance was challenged.[25] Firefox is considered the spiritual successor of Netscape Navigator,[26] as the Mozilla community was created by Netscape in 1998 before their acquisition by AOL.[27]

As of January 2016, Firefox has between 9% and 16% of worldwide usage as a "desktop" browser, making it the second most popular web browser.[28][29][30][31][32] Firefox is the most popular browser with Samoa, Germany, Eritrea and Cuba at 61.05%,[33][34] 38.36%,[35][36] 79.39%[37][38] and 85.93%[39] of the market share, respectively. It is also the most popular desktop browser in many other African,[40] and a few Asian countries.[41] According to Mozilla, as of December 2014 there were half a billion Firefox users around the world.[42] With Internet Explorer declining, Firefox reached second place in February 2016, as a desktop browser.[43]

Secure USB flash drives protect the data stored on them from access by unauthorized users. USB flash drive products have been on the market since 2000, and their use is increasing exponentially.[1][2] As both consumers and businesses have increased demand for these drives, manufacturers are producing faster devices with greater data storage capacities.

An increasing number of portable devices are used in business, such as laptops, notebooks, universal serial bus (USB) flash drives, personal digital assistants (PDAs), advanced mobile phones and other mobile devices.

Companies in particular are at risk when sensitive data are stored on unsecured USB flash drives by employees who use the devices to transport data outside the office. The consequences of losing drives loaded with such information can be significant, and include the loss of customer data, financial information, business plans and other confidential information, with the associated risk of reputation damage.

Usb bootable maker

USB Bootable maker

Download the executable and run it – no installation is necessary.

The executable is digitally signed and the signature should state:

"Akeo Consulting" (v1.3.0 or later)
"Pete Batard - Open Source Developer" (v1.2.0 or earlier)
Notes on DOS support:

If you create a DOS bootable drive and use a non-US keyboard, Rufus will attempt to select a keyboard layout according to the locale of your system. In that case, FreeDOS, which is the default selection, is recommended over MS-DOS, as it supports more keyboard layouts.

Notes on ISO Support:

All versions of Rufus since v1.1.0 allow the creation of a bootable USB from an ISO image (.iso).

Creating an ISO image from a physical disc or from a set of files is very easy to do however, through the use of a CD burning application, such as the freely available CDBurnerXP or ImgBurn.

Notes on UEFI & GPT support:

Since version 1.3.2, Rufus support UEFI as well as GPT for installation media, meaning that it will allow you to install Windows 7, Windows 8 or Linux in full EFI mode.
However, Windows Vista or later is required for full UEFI/GPT support. Because of OS limitations, Windows XP restricts the creation of UEFI bootable drives to MBR mode.
